Betadine® Throat Spray, Betadine® Mouthwash & Gargle and Betadine® Antiseptic, Surgical Scrub, Douche, Vaginal Gel, Cream or Ointment products (which contain povidone-iodine) are not indicated for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19.
With the use of Betadine® Throat Spray, Mouthwash and Gargle, small amounts may be swallowed during use, which is generally not associated with any safety concerns, if the instructions are followed accordingly. The other range of Betadine® products should not be ingested as they are not intended for use in the mouth or throat. Please follow the instructions for use, which may vary based on the product.
