Several new measures have been put in place to continue to enhance our employee experience since last year’s Great Place to Work® survey.
In Brazil, 96% of our colleagues took the opportunity to share their opinions on our unique culture and what makes Mundipharma a Great Place to Work® leading to the team’s first Great Place to Work Certification™.
Human Resources Manager, Latin America and lead for our Great Place to Work Certification™ in Brazil, Salutiel Viana shared his thoughts on the survey’s local highlights, how this achievement reflects our company culture and what it means to be recognised as one of the country's Best Workplaces.
What Great Place to Work Certification™ mean to the team in Brazil and how does this achievement reflect our culture?
The Great Place to Work Certification™ is a validation of our culture. Becoming certified in Brazil means officialising and recognising the excellent work environment we have. It’s a reflection of our teamwork day-to-day, the transparency and integrity we have in our processes, the harmony we have with each other and the way we collaborate and our alignment with the company's culture and values.
It also reflects how the company takes care of its employees, always focusing on people, valuing internal talent and promoting diversity and inclusion, which creates an inclusive environment where people can be who they really are. In addition, the Great Place to Work Certification™ helps new talent to the company, as it’s confirmation of our great culture and that the people working here are happy and enjoy what they do.
Can you share some of the survey highlights with us?
The survey captures direct, anonymous feedback from employees across five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. A key highlight for us was 100% of participating employees agreeing with the following statements:
- People here are willing to give extra to get the job done.
- My work has special meaning: this is not "just a job”.
- I feel good about the ways in which we contribute to the community.
- People here are treated fairly regardless of their age, race, gender and sexual orientation.
- People look forward to coming to work here.
- I'm proud to tell others I work here.
- I feel I make a difference here.
- People here quickly adapt to the changes needed for our organisation’s success.
- I am developing professionally working here.
- At Mundipharma, diversity is valued, and all people are treated with fairness and respect.
Do you think there are any specific steps we took in 2022 that contributed to our people rating our organisation so highly?
Yes, we placed significant focus on performance management and encouraging the creation and follow-through of individual development plans by working with our managers and employees to raise awareness of the importance of these processes.
In addition, we promoted a programme of internal opportunities for development that were accessible to all. This required HR to work as an effective strategic partner in very close collaboration with the business and our people, taking time to listen so that we could align individual interests with company priorities.
And finally, in your opinion, what makes Mundipharma a great place to work?
For me it’s the way we work as a team - we are always willing to help each other. Our organisation is participative with qualified and dedicated leaders committed to helping our people thrive. Lastly, but by no means least, Mundipharma is a great place to work because of the cultural fit of our employees.
