Inclusive spaces allow us all to thrive. Many of my own career opportunities are a result of enabling environments, and networks of professional and personal supporters that include both men and women. I am incredibly grateful for impactful role models that have inspired me, and for my husband, who has played a key role in shaping my career, as a coach, a trusted advisor and a promoter.
My pathway to leadership has called for me to be daring and ready to lean-in. I’ve had to play my part, and learn to challenge myself, too. The journey so far has taught me as much about myself as it has others. I’ve learned how rewarding it is to balance challenging myself outside of my comfort zone, with exercising self-compassion; and how to be curious and inquisitive while practicing self-awareness.
I believe great leaders bring the right blend of curiosity and self-awareness; confidence and humility; they demonstrate a growth mindset; and show empathy and care for others. My aspiration to reflect those qualities has been a good compass on my own road to leadership, which has brought me to my most recent role.
Since joining Mundipharma, I’ve personally benefited from our commitment to create space for people to share their unique views and experiences. It has allowed me to regularly listen and learn from my team and from other colleagues across the organisation. I feel proud and privileged to be an ambassador of such an inclusive culture – one that enables our people to work together, think differently and to transform the lives of patients all around the world.
A diverse and inclusive workplace benefits everyone and is essential in healthcare, where empathy, a deep curiosity about others, and a willingness to understand differing viewpoints are vital to creating impact for those with unmet needs.
Why building an inclusive environment is a priority at Mundipharma
At Mundipharma, we put people are at the heart of everything we do. From our customers and their patients, to our partners and our teams, the people we serve are diverse - shaped by their culture, background, experiences and personalities. We know that building an inclusive and psychologically safe environment where diverse perspectives can thrive, enables us to better cater to their needs and circumstances, positively impacting their lives.
How we do that
Firstly, we welcome everyone exactly as they are and take time to learn about and celebrate the different ways that we identify ourselves and experience life as individuals. Our people are encouraged to be themselves, to grow and fulfil their full potential, and appreciated for their unique value.
We also have clear guiding principles and behaviours which underpin everything we do. They challenge and inspire us to step outside our norms and deliberately seek out diversity of thought. We create opportunities to connect on a truly global scale, sharing knowledge, insights and opinions across geographies, positions and communities built around culture, personal interests and values.
It is in this type of inclusive environment where people thrive, where people can choose to challenge and where we unite to celebrate the proud achievements of great people, from all walks of life, across our global organisation.
