With over 60 years of heritage and a portfolio of around 50 primary and specialty care medicines, we are proud to be a company defined by purpose. Every product we deliver, partnership we build and decision we make, is rooted in our mission, United for Patients, which puts patients at the heart of everything we do to improve access and health outcomes.
A Journey of Transformation
In 2024, we laid the foundations for a new chapter, spearheaded by Medical Affairs and powered by passionate minds with cross-functional representation across our global organisation. What began as a strategic priority quickly evolved into a cultural transformation, embedding patient-first thinking into everything we do.
This was not just about launching a strategy; it was about changing how we work. We introduced initiatives that brought our purpose to life, for example:
- Mundipharma Patients Day: Our annual event brings patient centricity to life, showcasing real patient stories, updates on support programmes, and best-practice examples of patient-focused decisions from across the business.
- “Patient in the Room” mindset: A guiding principle for every discussion and decision, encouraging teams to actively consider patient needs, values, and experiences, not assumptions. It asks: What would a patient think if they heard this conversation?
- Patient Safety Week: Held around WHO World Patient Safety Day, this global initiative reinforces that safety is a moral imperative. It includes educational sessions and renewed pharmacovigilance training, ensuring every decision, from R&D to distribution, protects patients.
These efforts have made patient centricity part of everyday life.
What We Have Achieved Together
The impact has been remarkable both internally and externally. Today, 85% of Mundipharma employees see us as a truly patient-centric organisationi, a powerful reflection of the trust we have built with our teams, partners, and the patients we serve.
- Adapting clinical trials with patient-friendly consent materials to support informed decisions during complex medical situations.
- Seeking patient input through a Patient Advisory Board, which influenced clinical study protocol design.
- Implementing questionnaires to capture Patient Experience during pivotal trials.
- Improving safety and transparency with a simplified adverse event reporting form and launching a Global Policy on Patient Interactions & Data Privacy.
Externally, we’ve advanced patient outcomes through:
- Patient support and awareness programmes designed to empower individuals in managing their conditions.
- Collaborations with scientific institutes and advocacy groups to develop educational resources for patients and healthcare professionals.
- Targeted education for pharmacists and nurse practitioners, equipping them with tools and knowledge to enhance patient care.
Our initiatives have earned industry recognition, invitations to lead at major conferences, and set a new standard for patient centricity.
Looking Ahead
Patient centricity is now embedded in our strategic objectives. We will:
- Deepen understanding of patient needs across therapy areas.
- Strengthen partnerships with patient advocacy groups, healthcare professionals, and caregivers.
- Measure success by the difference we make in patients’ lives, not just commercial outcomes.
To achieve this, colleagues must understand our portfolio, therapy areas, and patient populations, so every decision puts patients first.
A Shared Purpose. A Lasting Impact
We thank the teams who made this possible. As we move forward, we pledge to keep listening, learning, and leading with purpose, always putting patients at the heart of everything we do.
