Our Executive Leadership Team
Under the leadership of Marc Princen, CEO, and other leaders within the organisation, the Executive Committee is responsible for overseeing the business operations of Mundipharma and ensuring that optimal patient care is at the centre of everything the company does.
Marc Princen
Joined Mundipharma in 2020
Marc is a highly proven pharmaceutical executive with a strong track record at leading pharmaceutical companies such as Schering-Plough, Merck, Takeda and Allergan. He is widely recognised for his expertise in business change and transformation.
Marc’s passion is to provide better patient access to innovative medicines. Since joining Mundipharma, Marc has led a significant transformation programme focused on building a high-performing, global company that delivers value for patients, customers, partners and employees.
Marc joined Mundipharma from Allergan, where he was Executive Vice President and President, International Business. He brings more than 30 years cross-functional experience in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise spanning commercial, marketing, business development and management.
He has held senior roles in world-leading pharmaceutical companies including President Europe and Canada at Takeda, President Mid-Europe Region at Merck and Regional Vice President at Schering-Plough. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium.
Arnaud Breabout
Joined Mundipharma in 2018
Arnaud joined Mundipharma from GSK where he was most recently Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Global Functions and Investments. He has a wealth of international Healthcare and FMCG experience gained over 25 years of experience with leading pharmaceutical companies.
At GSK, Arnaud held a number of senior finance leadership roles including CFO Pharmaceutical Pipeline, CFO Biopharmaceuticals and CFO Vaccines North America. Before joining GSK in 2002, Arnaud held positions at Procter & Gamble, Bristol Myers Squibb and PwC in France and the UK.
He holds an MBA from Amiens Business School, France, the DECF (French Diploma of Chartered Accountancy) and is a graduate of Harvard Business School (GMP).
Etienne Claessens
Joined Mundipharma in 2023
Etienne joined Mundipharma from Baxter where he was VP Human Resources for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. He brings over 25 years of experience in various global and regional HR roles, predominantly in the healthcare industry. Prior to Baxter, Etienne was with Hillrom and Philips. His main focus during these years has been on mergers, acquisitions and divestments.
As an experienced international HR leader who has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the US, Etienne brings a solid track record of building and developing highly engaged HR and business leadership teams, driving integration across cultures, executive coaching, integration & change management, project management, talent management and organisation design and development.
He holds a master’s degree in Management and Organisational Sciences from Tilburg University, The Netherlands, and a bachelor’s degree in Law.
Liana Del Medico
Joined Mundipharma in 2021
Liana joined Mundipharma as a Director of Communications for Canada and moved to a global communications role that same year. She has held various positions within the Communications & Corporate Affairs function and was promoted to Vice President in January 2023. She now leads the Global Communications & Corporate Affairs function for Mundipharma.
Liana has worked in the corporate communications and public affairs for over 25 years with leading pharmaceutical organisations.
Liana has extensive experience with complex product and corporate issues, media relations, internal communications, government relations and change management.
Liana is a board member of the Humber College Advanced PR Program Advisory Committee. Liana attended Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers School of Business Management.
Bryan Lea
Joined Mundipharma in 1993
Bryan was appointed as General Counsel and Secretary to the Board in 2019. In his extensive career with Mundipharma, he has held a number of senior leadership roles including UK Legal Director, European General Counsel, with responsibility for all legal and compliance matters across the region, and as a member of national and regional leadership teams and boards. He joined Napp Pharmaceuticals in 1993.
Prior to Mundipharma, Bryan held positions in international law firms, Frere Cholmeley and Hammond Suddards, in London, Leeds and Paris, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and commercial law.
He completed his professional exams with distinction at Guildford College of Law, UK and holds a bachelor’s degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford, UK.
Dr. Yuri Martina
Yuri joins Mundipharma from Destiny Pharma, where he was Chief Medical Officer and helped develop and partner their two phase 3 ready assets in infectious diseases prevention.
Previously, Yuri was SVP Development and deputy Chief Medical Officer at Grünenthal Group where he was a key member of the Global R&D Leadership and Commercial Leadership teams. Prior to Grünenthal Group, Yuri was Vice President and Head of Development and Clinical Operations at Shionogi Europe. Here he provided strategic, medical and operational leadership for clinical programmes globally and oversight, through his team, for all clinical programmes in Europe.
Throughout his career, Yuri has brought over 13 new drugs to market in North America, Europe, Latin America and APAC.
Yuri has more than 20 years’ experience in clinical development working with key regulatory, industry and government stakeholders including the European Medicines Agency, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency in Japan.
Yuri is a medical doctor with a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology, a Master’s of Business Administration and a Master’s in Project Management. He is also a member of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Sarah McLoughlin
Joined Mundipharma in 2021
Prior to her appointment as Senior Vice President, Corporate & Business Development, Sarah was Finance Director for Scientific Affairs and Corporate & Business Development.
Sarah has a wealth of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Mundipharma in July 2021, Sarah was with GSK for 11 years, where she held senior finance roles across different functions. Before this, she was a senior consultant at IMS (now IQVIA).
Sarah holds a master’s degree in finance from London Business School and graduated with a first-class bachelor’s degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge.
Petra Molan
Joined Mundipharma in 2024
Prior to joining Mundipharma, Petra held the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada (EMEAC) at Horizon Therapeutics, a global biotechnology company since acquired by Amgen. She brings over 25 years of experience in various international executive roles with Eli Lilly, Bayer, Shire, Takeda and extensive global experience launching new products and driving market expansions across the speciality care and rare disease space.
Before her role at Horizon Therapeutics, Petra was Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Arvelle Therapeutics, a pre-commercial biotech start-up that was acquired at the end of 2020 by Angelini Pharma. Leading the cross-functional team, Petra helped to build and scale up the business, define its strategy and launched the company across Europe.
She holds a PharmD degree from the University of Ljubljana, as well as a master’s degree in Marketing and Communication and certifications from the International Board of Directors Switzerland and Global Leadership Development from Harvard Business School.
Lori Reber
Joined Mundipharma in 2020
Lori has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, including at Amgen, Baxter and Smith & Nephew, where she held increasingly senior Legal and Compliance roles and expanded geographical scope.
The majority of her experience has focused on building, implementing and refining regional and global compliance programmes to drive high-integrity business practices. Most recently, she was the Chief Compliance Officer at Coty Inc., a global, publicly-traded consumer goods company.
Lori holds a Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University in California.
Neil Trueman
Joined Mundipharma in 2015
Neil was appointed Deputy General Counsel in 2023 and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Legal Department and management of the Legal team. Neil joined Mundipharma in 2015 as Director of IP Strategy, taking on the Regional General Counsel role for Asia/Middle East /Latin America before rising to his current role as Deputy GC. Neil is a dual qualified lawyer in England & Wales and the US (Illinois) with a scientific background; he holds a Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry from Durham University and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the University of Cambridge. He converted to law at the College of Law, London, and subsequently was awarded a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, where he lived and practised for a number of years. Prior to joining Mundipharma Neil practised law in leading IP and technology law firms Bristows and Powell Gilbert (London) and Banner Witcoff (Chicago).
Ajay Varshney
Joined Mundipharma in 2023
Ajay joined Mundipharma from Accord Healthcare where he was SVP Operations & Quality.
Ajay is a strategic supply chain and operations executive with extensive leadership expertise gained through various roles, across geographies and in multiple industries such as pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and management consulting.
With over 25 years of experience, Ajay has led global teams, adopted and embedded new ways of working, setup, scaled and transformed manufacturing operations & supply chains, developed productive vendor networks and enabled business growth across the U.S., Europe, India, Russia CIS and Latin America.
He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai, India and a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (Electrical Engineering).
