Pride is more than just a month

This June, we have celebrated Pride at Mundipharma with events that support education and awareness building. We have heard real, personal experiences from LGBTQ+ colleagues across our organisation. As the executive sponsor of our global Inclusion Council and an ally to our LGBTQ+ community, I’m proud of how we are furthering LGBTQ+ inclusion through our five commitments.

At Mundipharma, people are at the heart of everything we do. We work to help our colleagues understand each other and feel connected. Dedicating time to learn about, advocate for and celebrate the diversity in our business and the world beyond is not only the smart thing to do, it’s the right thing to do.

Every employee deserves to feel safe and comfortable being their authentic selves at work and at Mundipharma we take a firm stance against discrimination, so it’s important that everyone in our organisation understands what it means to contribute to an inclusive workplace.

As we enter the last week of Pride 2022 and think about how we carry our commitment to equality and inclusion forward beyond June, I’ve been reflecting on the power of allyship.

True allyship is about unity. It’s an active state of partnership and an ongoing commitment to listen, learn and intentionally be on the look-out for opportunities to create equality. It’s about more than what we say, it’s about what we do.

Allyship can come through everyday acts which help break down barriers, push boundaries and protect those who face discrimination, inequality and prejudice.

As Pride month comes to an end, our challenge to create a truly inclusive world must continue and we all have our part to play.
